I have put this Web page together in honor of my great-Grandfathers,George Washington Hubbard, and Daniel Carter Pagans. George Hubbard served in the 28th Virginia Infantry Co. D"Piedmont Rifles", was wounded in the Battle of Williamsburg, on May 5th,1862,Wounded and captured and held prisoner at Ft. Monroe, transferred to Washington hospital #2, died and was buried at Arlington National Cemetery,Section 16,Grave #167. He was one of the first soldiers buried in General Lee's Backyard, (a sign of defiance by the Federal Govt.). His widow remained here in Bedford County,Virginia.
Daniel C. Pagans served in the 58th Virginia Infantry Co. E "Hales Ford Guards" with General Jackson in the Shenandoah Valley until 1863, when he transferred to the 37th Virginia Vavalry Battalion. He survived the war, and is buried in Franklin County,Virginia in the  Scruggs section.
